This happened when your body overrespond to an allergen. In children, this can make eating difficult. According to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.childrenshospital.org\/conditions-and-treatments\/conditions\/eosinophilic-esophagitis-ee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boston Children\u2019s Hospital<\/a>, 1 in 10,000 children has this form of Oesophagitis. Common triggers include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>milk<\/li>\n<li>soy<\/li>\n<li>eggs<\/li>\n<li>wheat<\/li>\n<li>peanuts<\/li>\n<li>tree nuts<\/li>\n<li>shellfish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Inhaled allergens, such as pollen, can also contribute to this form of esophagitis.<\/p>\n<h3>Reflux Oesophagitis<\/h3>\n<p>Reflux Oesophagitis is usually due to a condition known as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/health\/gerd\">gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)<\/a>. GERD occurs when stomach contents like acids, frequently back up into the Oesophagus. This causes chronic inflammation and irritation of the Oesophagus.<\/p>\n<h3>Drug-induced Oesophagitis<\/h3>\n<p>Drug-induced Oesophagitis can occur when you take certain medications without enough water. This causes medications to linger in the Oesophagus too long.
