The symptoms, which can include an upset stomach and general stomach discomfort, are quite common and usually aren\u2019t related to anything serious. For example, an upset stomach can be mistaken for indigestion or a stomach virus. For these reasons, diagnosing stomach cancer in its earliest stages\u00a0can be challenging.<\/p>\n<p>Some symptoms that could be caused by stomach cancer when it\u2019s in the early stages include:<\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>constant stomach pain, indigestion, or discomfort<\/li>\n<li>heartburn<\/li>\n<li>bloating, especially after eating<\/li>\n<li>mild nausea<\/li>\n<li>loss of appetite<\/li>\n<li>fatigue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>As stomach cancer becomes more advanced, the symptoms become more prominent and noticeable. They can include:<\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>unexplained or unintentional weight loss<\/li>\n<li>vomiting after meals<\/li>\n<li>stomach pain, especially after meals<\/li>\n<li>trouble swallowing<\/li>\n<li>weakness<\/li>\n<li>belching (burping)<\/li>\n<li>fluid buildup around the stomach (called ascites)<\/li>\n<li>the development of a yellow tint to the skin or the whites of the eyes (called jaundice)<\/li>\n<li>blood tests that show anemia<\/li>\n<li>a persistent stomach ulcer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>These symptoms may be related to a different condition\u00a0unrelated to stomach cancer.
